• Email address — provided when you sign up for crash alerts or a Pro subscription.
• Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. We never store your full card number on our servers.
• Usage analytics — collected via PostHog to understand how visitors interact with the site (pages visited, features used, general location).
• Alert preferences — metro areas you choose to monitor and your notification settings.

HOW WE USE YOUR DATA

• To send you crash score alerts for the metros you select.
• To process your Pro subscription payments.
• To improve the product based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns.
• To send transactional emails (subscription confirmations, billing receipts).

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

We use the following third-party services to operate CrashWatch:

• Supabase — database and authentication. Your email and alert preferences are stored in Supabase's infrastructure.
• Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions. Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy policy.
• Resend — transactional email delivery for alerts and account notifications.
• PostHog — product analytics and session tracking. See our cookie policy below.

COOKIE POLICY

CrashWatch uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

• Essential cookies — required for authentication and session management.
• Analytics cookies (PostHog) — help us understand how visitors use CrashWatch so we can improve the experience. These cookies collect anonymized usage data such as pages visited and features interacted with.

You can disable analytics cookies in your browser settings. The site will continue to function without them.

DATA RETENTION

We retain your account data (email and alert preferences) for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription and delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely. Stripe retains payment records as required by financial regulations.

UNSUBSCRIBE & DATA DELETION

You can manage your data at any time:

• Unsubscribe from alerts — click the unsubscribe link in any alert email, or manage preferences from your dashboard.
• Cancel Pro subscription — cancel anytime from your dashboard. You retain access until the end of your billing period.
• Delete your account — email us at support@crashwatch.live and we will delete all your personal data within 30 days.

YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS (CCPA / GDPR)

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights:

• Right to know — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to delete — request deletion of your personal data.
• Right to opt out — opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell your data.
• Right to portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.
• Right to correction — request correction of inaccurate personal data.
